MLX90423 Melexis Triaxis 3D Linear Stray Field Robust Position Sensor Gen.III

The MLX90423 is an ASIL-B (Analog) or ASIL-C (SENT/PWM) capable, absolute measuring stray field immune linear position sensor with Melexis Triaxis technology based on the Hall effect for cost-sensitive industrial or automotive applications.

The position sensor MLX90423 comes with excellent functional safety as well as electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) characteristics and supports operating temperatures up to +160°C.

It is suitable for non-contact linear position sensing in automotive, medical or industrial applications. Functionally compatible with previous generation Triaxis sensors.

A simple axial magnet is sufficient for operation of stray field robust linear applications.

- Analog, PWM or SENT output (SAE J2716 APR2016)
- Multi-point linearization with 16 arbitrary points resp. X0...X15[deg] & Y0...Y15[%] coordinates
- Robustness against stray magnetic field up to 5 mT (or 4 kA/m) as per ISO 11452-8
- ASIL-B ready with Analog output according to ISO26262 SEooC (Safety Element out of Context)
- ASIL-C ready with SENT or PWM output according to ISO26262 SEooC
- AEC-Q100 qualified (Grade-0), RoHS compliant
- Temperature range -40...+160°C (automotive)
- Operating voltage 5V (4.5~5.5V) in Analog mode
- 12V Battery usage for SENT and PWM mode
- SMD Single-DIE (SOIC-8) or Dual-DIE (TSSOP-16)
- PCB-less design single-DIE as SMP-3 package
- Chip revision "ACA"

The ICs are unprogrammed and can only be reprogrammed or adapted to the magnetic design by a Melexis Programmer PTC-04 fitted with Daughterboard HALL06 .
